The Lions Charity Golf Day held on June 3rd was a great success, even though the weather decided not to help by ensuring all 32 teams taking part had a good soaking during their 18 hole game.
A big Lions thank-you goes to everyone who took part and to all the kind donations and sponsorship from local people and businesses. Along with a raffle at the end of the day all helped to raise a 'whacking' £3500.
The money raised has been used for the following: £500 of this amount has gone to help the Childline cause and £3000 to the Willoughby School in Bourne. This will assist with their aim of raising £20000 to attain 'special school status' which will then allow them access to extra government funding.
A special thank you goes to the following people for a lot of hard work in making the Golfing tournament a great success:
Lion Frank Reeves, Lion Graham Crane, Lion Kevin Brown, Lion Rob Cochrane.
